Gosh… it seems so surreal to be done with summer and heading back to “The Puge” (as I like to call it).
What’s even more surreal is the fact that I went through my very first heart-wrenching end to a relationship.
Nothing huge.. no roses… no “I love you’s” But it was a big deal for 19-year-old me.
I went to a few Los Angeles all night music festivals.. or as the people call them, Raves. I danced my butt off and had an amazing time. I got dubbed as “Nala” because of my curly hair; Think Lion King. Think luxurious blonde mane. Haha.
I shared a million laughs with people from all over. 2 Wisconsin girls. My Kentucky bound best friend, Cailynn. My Minnesota bound best friend, Chloe. The boys: Andy, Ryan, Mooney, and Ron. The girls: Megan, Becca, Sami, and the gang.
But the best part about this summer was that I was home.
I tried to be in the moment as much as I could.
Do things I wanted to because I could.
I watched a laser show set to Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon.”
I stayed up all night with strangers.
I read Harry Potter in spanish.
I took out my eyebrow piercing to make room for an eyebrow.
(Which I will never have, seeing as mine are blonde “eyebrow dents”)
I facebooked way too much.
I made fun of twitter.
And I blogged.
Not much, though.
I almost finished my scrapbook.
I went to Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Hollywood, Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Culver City, Long Beach, Seal Beach, Fountain Valley, and Santa Barbara to be with friends, family, and those that fit somewhere in between.
I cried a few times.
I felt things I’ve never felt before.
I kissed one boy multiple times.
I made hard decisions.
I neglected certain old friendships.
But I built upon new ones.
I’m thinking I’m heading in a good direction.
Now I’m almost all packed up for school… And I couldn’t be happier with where things are.
I’ll be rooming with 3 lovely ladies, and 1 beyond awesome dude.
I’ll update the world on them soon.
